The department of Zoology offers a two year post graduate course in Zoology with major thrusts on Modern Biology, viz, Cell & Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Instrumentation, Immunology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Stress Physiology, etc. The M.Phil programme of the Department has also been suitably designed to equip the students with both theoretical and practical knowledge on Cellular and Molecular Biology. In research, the Department has mainly pursued its interest in Cytogenetics, Genotoxicity, Cytochemistry, Cell Physiology and Biochemistry, Sericulture, Vector Biology and Biology of ageing.
