Prof. Manmath Padhy
Born on 25.05.1955 at Chirikipoda Sasan, Ganjam. In 1976. Completed his B.A. Hons. in 1st Class from Science College, Hinjilicut and M.A. in History in 1st Class from Berhampur University in 1978 and obtained his Ph.D. degree in History from Berhamapur University in 1988. Dr. Padhy was a popular student leader and literary champion throughout his student career.
In August 1979 he joined Science College, Aska as a Lecturer in History. In November 1979 joined Tara Tarini College, Purushottampur. He was the founder Principal of that College and served as the Principal till June 1989 during which period he took the College to the height of eminence.
In 1989, Joined the P.G. Department of History, Berhampur University and promoted to the rank of Professor in the year 2000. He was Professor and Head of the Department of History, Berhampur University from 2000-2002. He has served Berhampur University in various capacities :

Besides, Prof. Padhy has been assigned with prestigious assignments by the U.G.C. as the Member of the XIth Plan Expert Committee. He has also conducted a number of National and State level U.G.C. sponsored Seminars and Conferences, successfully guided more than fifty M.Phil scholars and twenty Ph.D. scholars, published many research articles in various Journals and attended more than hundred Seminars and Conferences during his Career. He has also been associated with many academic Institutes and Professional Bodies of International and National Repute.
Prof. Padhy is a dedicated teacher liked by one and all, a serious researcher and eminent scholar, an able administrator, a social worker, a popular poet and writer. Recently, he has been honoured with “Siksha Ratna Puraskar”. a prestigious Award – Conferred on him in 2006 at Bangalore by India International Friendship Society for his significant contribution to the field of education and knowledge.
